The series ( 1) BMW 6 speed rear wheel drive gearboxes have an Achilles’ heel, commonly, we see these gearboxes in for repair with the same problem ( Jumping out of 1st gear), I.E, when you have selected 1st try and pull away and the gear lever is thrown back towards or into neutral
